Salad with
Apple Sauce
à la Marcel
We are used to make salads with salad dressing, such
as one made of mayonnaise or of oil and vinegar, that is served on salad.
We also use 1000-Island dressing, Morning-Sun and other fancy stuff.
They all contain a lot of calories, additives, colors and so on. Why don't
we change this bad habit of using salad dressings from the supermarket
and instead make our own dressings at home? If you do not like my 'Apple
Sauce dressing' then at least make your homemade salad dressings! Use a
good vinegar or lemon juice, spices, chilies, olive oil (or any polyunsaturated
oil), garlic, onion, etc.
Make a new salad dressing
with Marcel's Apple Sauce recipe!
Ingredients:
- 3 apples
- 1 soupspoon of honey
- 1 lemon
- olive oil
Directions:
Peel 3 apples, remove the center and cut apples into
quarters. Mince the apples in a food processor or blender until finely
puréed. Add 1 soupspoon of honey. Also add the juice of one lemon.
You might also add some olive oil.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and then refrigerate
sauce immediately in a refrigerator until very cold.
Prepare a salad with carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, radish,
finely shredded potatoes, celery, red beet, cabbage, endive and onion rings,
anything you like.
I recommend: lettuce, finely shredded carrots, finely
shredded cabbage, radish and endive.
Pour your "Apple Sauce à la Marcel" on your
salad.
Season to taste.
Decorate your salad with parsley, chives, olives, and
cottage cheese.
Have a good day!
